When you think of Fall Season, you normally don’t think of protein treats. This time of year is filled with cooler temperatures (yes, even here in Miami), home-baked goodies and lots of activities centered around food. So how do you stay on track with your eating while not feeling deprived? This is a challenge we all face and I wanted to share a few treats that are packed with protein and flavor.
Chewy Protein Mummies – I saw this original recipe on Bodybuilding.com and adapted it to my liking. This is so simple and tasty!
- 1/2 Cup Fiber One Cereal
- 1/2 scoop GNC 100% Whey Protein Powder Unflavored
- 1 Tablespoon creamy peanut butter (any nut butter works)
- 2 Tablespoons Carey’s Sugar Free Syrup
- 10 Hershey’s Sugar Free Chocolate Chips
I mixed the peanut butter and syrup together first until well incorporated. Add the protein powder and mix well. Then,add the Fiber One Cereal and mix with your hands. On parchment paper, make 5 messy discs and 2 Hershey chocolate chips for eyes. refrigerate 20 minutes until set.
Chex Mix Sugar Free Muddy Protein Mix – Just 3 Ingredients
- 3/4 cup Chex Cereal – any flavor
- Hershey Sugar Free Chocolate Chips
- 1/2 scoop GNC 100% Whey Protein Powder unflavored
Melt Hershey Sugar Free Chocolate Chips in the microwave. Remove carefully as the container will be very hot. Mix in the protein powder. Add the Chex Cereal and stir until completely coated. Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Let sit 30 minutes until set.
Protein Packed Vanilla Pudding with “Dirt” Topping – I made this recipe and served as individual portions, but this could be made in a rectangle baking dish and decorate for a party.
- Jello Sugar Free Vanilla Pudding – 1 box
- 2 cups Fat Free Milk (I used Fair Life)
- 1 scoop GNC 100% Whey Protein Powder – unflavored
- 1 package Aldi Fit & Active 100 Calorie
Make pudding to package directions, add 2 cups of milk and contents of the package and mix well. Add 1 scoop of GNC 100% Whey Protein Powder until well blended. Place in the refrigerator until set. The package says 5 minutes, but I let it set up for 20 minutes. Then, in a plastic zip lock bag, I crushed the contents of one bag of chocolate cookies until roughly crushed. In a glass, first add the crushed cookies, then spoon in the pudding, then crushed cookies, pudding and finish with crushed cookies on top.
Gingerbread Cookie Protein Shake –
This shake is available now at GNC for a limited time, but the flavors could be easily recreated with Pumpkin Spice, Cinnamon with either Vanilla or Caramel Protein Shake Flavors.
- 1 Container GNC Lean Shake Gingerbread Cookie Flavor
- Pumpkin Spice
- 5-6 Ice Cubes
- Hershey’s Sugar Free Chocolate Syrup
- Reddi Wip Topping
Place contents of shake in blender, add a dash of pumpkin spice, 5 or 6 ice cubes and blend until smooth. Finish with Whipped Cream and Drizzle Chocolate Syrup

Thanks for the kind words! When it comes to writing, what works best for me is a quiet place. To switch from the noise and distractions of everyday life is difficult. I’ve discovered that writing in the morning when it’s quiet, and also late at night, works best for me. Those are the times I seem to be able to focus better. When I write during the day, I tend to be more distracted. It does take time to figure this out. It’s really an individual thing as we are all different and unique. Try out different times and places to write. I hope this helps you.

I would recommend a paid word press site. When I started my blog, honestly, it was a lot to learn because this was the first time creating a site. Word press made it easy, there are lots ot tutorials which will help you get through it all. Just keep it simple, add content and keep going. You will learn more and make changes and evolve as time goes on.

It does take time to clear your mind to write. One of the best things that has worked for me is to write early in the morning or late at night.
Both of those times are quiet in my home and there’s no distractions. If I put headsets on and listen to soft music, that seems to help me focus.
When you do write though, I recommend just writing your thoughts down without editing or filtering them. Even if your thoughts come out as scrambled eggs, getting them down on paper is way more important than editing. Go back and edit afterwards. I’ve learned, or at least in my experience, in trying to edit while I write, I’ve lost my train of thought.

However, think about this, suppose you were to create a killer title?
I am not saying your content is not solid., however what if you added a title that grabbed a person’s attention? I mean Fall Inspired Protein Treats
– Weight It Gets Better is kinda boring. You could peek at Yahoo’s home
page and see how they create post headlines to grab people
to open the links. You might add a video or a related picture or two to grab readers interested about what you’ve written. Just my opinion, it could bring your blog a little livelier.

Every time I’ve done that in the past, my proof readers, etc. tell me it’s corny or nuts. LOL

But he’s tryiong none the less. I’ve been using Movable-type on a number of websites for about a year and am nervous about switching
to another platform. I have heard very good things about blogengine.net.

I use WordPress and that’s it. I just stay with that.

I started with my hosting company – Just Host ( I have a great promo link on my blog page) then, I set up a Word Press blog through them.
It’s not hard to set up but does take time. I’m not super technical but when you do get stuck, there’s tutorials and support that are there to assist you.

Getting the blog set up, picking a name, hosting company and platform do take time to get going.
Initially, I spent 2 months getting it all set up. I normally was using my spare time in the evenings and on weekends. However, my hesitation was pure FEAR.
I didn’t think anyone would be interested in what I had to say. But, I just decided, what I have gone through is similar to so many others out there.
So I just went for it and started to write and share my journey. Just go with it. I’m not a programmer of any sort, but it all works out.

browsers and both show the same results.
