Today is the official kick-off of my Holiday Weight Challenge. I’ve included a short video of my 1st Weigh In! I’m excited to be here today for what I hope will be the first of many Holiday Weight Challenges!

I am a little nervous, as I am still reluctant to share my actual numbers on the scale. I am sure many of you can relate to how I am feeling. I guess it’s just that old recording I’ve listened to for so many years of being ashamed of how much I weigh. So, here it goes, a short video sharing my first weigh in!

As you can see, I weighed in at 180.9. The time I weighed in was 8:30pm.

Please email your weigh-in results and I will keep track every week. Of course, I will not publish everyone’s weight, unless I have your permission to publish your numbers. I am trying to be less conflicted about my numbers on the scale and that’s one of the reasons why I have been so willing to be open and share just exactly how much I weigh, even when I don’t necessarily what those numbers are. We are all so much more than numbers on a scale anyway and so this is my way to really learn how to embrace that mindset.

The holiday season is already upon us. Even though Thanksgiving is next week, the festivities have already begun in my community starting with a social at Bible Study on Wednesday night, where we are all bringing something to eat. I will take photos and post what was served so you will have an idea of all the good, the bad and everything in between that was just a quick swipe away. I decided to bring a tray of vegetables and dip (made with greek yogurt). I’ll share the recipe on how I made the dip. I am also invited to another gathering on Saturday. So, you can see that the holiday fun is just around the corner so this is why I thought starting the holiday weight challenge now was just perfect timing.

Keep in touch and share your holiday plans and let’s open up the conversation as to the various ways you plan on getting through this time of year without gaining weight.

  1. Hi Kim !
I am ready for this challenge ……….as for many of us,this is the time of the year that it is the most difficult for me .
To stay at my goal or less ,I promise myself to excercise regularly ( a walk/jog in the neighborhood or on the treadmill) and to stick to small portions of my favorite meals.I will then be able to have that extra glass or two of wine.
This promise to myself will stay in my mind all through the holiday.

And now the fun begins !!!!!!!!!!!!!! xoxo
