Happy Cyber Monday! Are you ready for this week’s Holiday Weight Challenge results! I hope everyone enjoyed their Thanksgiving! I would like to hear from you on how you handled the holiday. This is considered one of the most stressful times of the year and I have a few suggestions on some helpful tips that I will share later this week. It’s hard to believe it’s Monday again! Last week felt like a blur!

Here’s today’s Holiday Weight Challenge Results Week 2 -11-28-16

  • Kim (that’s me) I have included a video of my results . 180.3 last week 179.8, which is +0.50 from last week
  • Nancy D. Last week 117 this week 119
  • MmBe – minus 4 lbs (total weight lost in two weeks 8 lbs!)
  • Panman – minus 1 lb
  • Master of music – same weight as last week
  • Nannybins – + 2 lbs
  • McBloomers – +1 lb
  • lilJESS – same weight as last week
  • likemike – +3lbs
  • Wber – same weight as last week.

Nancy emailed me to share her story with everyone. She went away for the long weekend, which meant a big change to her regular routine. She did get a chance to relax and do some meditation, and did get a chance to do some walking. As being away, she was out to dinner and also enjoyed a wine before and during dinner. She’s happy to be back home so she can get back to her normal routine and her food plan

MmBe and LilJess went to the gym and continued to add exercise into their daily hectic schedule. They walked their dog longer than usual, which I am sure the dog enjoyed a lot too! I was really very impressed with MmBe’s story as she’s working mom and wife with lots of volunteer work and numerous family activities, she’s been able to lose a great deal of weight these past few weeks!!Keep up the good work!!

Nannybins sent me an email to let me know she knew she gained weight and says this is her pattern and she tends to gain weight in November and lose it all back plus more during the month of December with all of the extra exercise she gets in cleaning, putting up Christmas decorations, shopping, cooking, visiting friends and family. She’s glad to have joined the challenge as it’s keeping her more aware of her food choices. She believes if she didn’t participate, her weight gain would have been much more.

My week was great! In addition to work, I went to water aerobics on Tuesday. The water was FREEZING! Seriously, I burned more calories since I had to get warmed up! Wednesday night was circuit training and then my son came home from college!! On Thanksgiving morning, my gym did a Thanksgiving Day BOOT CAMP! It was phenomenal! I was amazed to see just how many people came out!! There were close to 50 people who attended. After the gym, I went to Church to give thanks for all of my blessings, then I cooked our Thanksgiving meal. The rest of my weekend included a shopping trip to pick out toys for a family we adopt for Christmas. My family and I do this every year which is a program run by my Church. It has become tradition in which we always look forward to. Besides the shopping trips I was able to fit more gym time in and got some early morning workouts in on Saturday and Sunday, which I was happy about.

This is the weekly recap and I want to thank the participants who continue to share their progress even when they are disappointed in their results. It’s just another opportunity to make some corrections and get focused once again. Stay tuned for some tips on handling holiday parties and the stress of the holidays.
