A Day In The Life Of My Jaxx! Check Out What’s In The Bag! Has been a popular series and I’ve been asked by many of you to continue to feature just what I have to eat on a daily basis. So, I want to thank you for your interest in this series and I am really THRILLED that it has been helpful! When choosing to take photos of what I put in Jaxx, I normally select work days since most of us work outside of our homes, deciding what to eat each day can become a real challenge and more of a chore. I don’t normally use Jaxx on the weekends, but have taken Jaxx on many family road trips and have packed Jaxx in my suitcase when we’ve gone on vacation.
Many of us find just trying to build a healthy meal prep routine to feed families is a huge undertaking. Then, to add meal prep for work day lunches and for those of us who have had bariatric surgery, prepping smaller meals on a daily basis can really feel overwhelming. Well, I am here to tell you, I felt the exact same way. What I’ve been learning along the way and continue to learn is that there’s no one way to meal prep. You will have to try out a few different things and just as our moods change, what worked for us a few months ago, may not work for us now. But it’s all OK! This is a wonderful learning experience! I really LOVE my cute, neat, little Jaxx because it’s a compact and sort of fashionable looking way, (or looks a little more fashionable to me, LOL) to store my food for an entire day. This has helped me develop food preparation into more of a fun game. Now every day I pack up my Jaxx with love AND good eats! I’m always thinking of interesting recipes and different ideas to come up with to fill my little side piece, I mean, my Jaxx!
Yes, the picture here shows what I had to eat, or should I say drink on a regular work day! I just wanted to shake things up a bit and challenge myself to drink 5 protein drinks. Why? I don’t really know, I guess I wanted to see if I could go back to the beginning, before my surgery, when my doctor put me on a 10 day fast of just protein shakes! I do think I was crazy when I first came up with this idea, because why would I do this AGAIN! The first time around for me, especially those first three days felt like absolute torture! So the more I thought about it, I wanted to prove to myself it wasn’t really as bad as I had remembered and also, that I had the determination to stick to a one day fast. I know what you may be asking yourself right now, how does one day compare to 10 days and why didn’t I do more than one day, right? Well, to be quiet honest, from my 10 day fast, the take away that was forever etched in my brain was the first day was THE toughest day. Since I’m maintaining my weight, going on a ten-day fast isn’t necessary.
So, I filled my Jaxx with 5 protein shakes, Premier Protein pre-made protein shakes, to be exact, and if you notice, I selected 4 different flavors. I mean, if you are going to do it up right, you have to give yourself some variety! I had full work day, and maintained an eating schedule of a protein shake every 3 hours beginning at 7am, 10am, 1pm, 4pm and the final shake at 7pm. Guess what happened? I SURVIVED!! Thankfully, I was busy and that took my mind and focus off my stomach. I did drink water, probably close to a gallon by the end of the day and also 2 cups of coffee, but that was it! I did start to get a little headache, but took tylenol and it went away! Other than that, it turned out to be surprisingly uneventful! I learned something about myself in the process, which I continue to think about which is this, You NEVER know what you are made of unless you challenge yourself. We sometimes get too down on ourselves and limit our true potential! Something as simply as drinking protein shakes for one day helped me rediscover that truth!

naturally like your website but you have to check the spelling on quite a few of your posts. Many of them are rife with spelling issues and I in finding it very bothersome to tell the reality on the other hand I’ll certainly come back again.
