A Day In the Life Of My Jaxx! Check Out What’s In The Bag! Here’s what I took with me to work on Friday! My first meal was a Premier Protein pre-made protein shake. I selected chocolate flavor, but I normally have a case of each flavor in my home. Right now, I have Caramel, Chocolate, and Vanilla. These shakes taste great and are rich and creamy, while giving you a great start on your protein count with an impressive 30 grams! Since I like to drink this on my drive into work each morning, these pre-made shakes are an easy choice. If you have a hectic morning, with limited time, or just don’t want to think about what to eat for breakfast, grab one of these shakes for a healthy alternative to fast food drive thru. Your body with thank you!
One of the foods you’ll find in my bag on a regular basis is Greek Yogurt. These days, I’m selecting plain 0% Fat Greek Yogurt from Fage. I just love Greek Yogurt and Fage Brand is by far my very favorite. I mixed in a few dark cherries as they are in season now from Chile and then I counted out half a serving of dry roasted almonds, mixed in a packet of Stevia and my next meal was done. You really don’t need much time to create healthy, nutritious meals. It’s more about meal planning and being sure you get your food list ready for the supermarket.
I normally make a chopped salad and then add in the greens as my base when I’m ready to eat. I’ve noticed when I keep my greens separate from the chopped vegetables, the greens stay crisp and dry. In this salad, I made a batch of chopped vegetables, diced green and red bell peppers, baby carrots, celery, and 1/4 of a small red onion diced. Then, I added some black olives. When I was ready to go to work, I opened the bag of
Fresh Express Baby Kale Salad , mixed in my chopped vegetables and added 1 hard-boiled egg and 1 tablespoon of homemade Italian Salad Dressing. That’s it! ( I did bring an extra hard-boiled egg, but didn’t eat it as the salad was super filling.)
Last but not least, was a Jimmy Dean Delights Honey Wheat English Muffin breakfast sandwich.
I originally bought these for my son to eat, but he didn’t eat them all before he returned to college, so I’m finishing them up. These sandwiches are full of flavor, light and filling. I try to stay away from frozen meals as they tend to be high in sodium, but when I began to research similar sandwiches available, I learned this Jimmy Deans English Muffin sandwich was lower in calories, fat ( total fat and saturated fat) and cholesterol. Just to be fair, this sandwich is 14 grams of protein compared to 16 and 18 grams of protein provided by the fast food chains. The other great thing about these sandwiches is you can eat them whenever you want! They’re not just for breakfast! I ate my sandwich at 3pm! Check out the table below.
