Can you believe January is already over? I’m just amazed at how quickly time goes by. With the holiday season behind us, and January now complete, it’s time to continue on our journey through 2018 and onto our quest to become improved versions of our former selves.
Let’s review January’s goal of drinking more water. The challenge was to drink 2 additional glasses of water each day. So how did I do? I did accomplish the goal of drinking 16 additional ounces of water each day (496 ounces for the month), but actually drank on average, 24 ounces of water each day. That gave me a grand total of 744 ounces of additional water for the month of January. On some days the thought of drinking more water was a BIG challenge and I consciously had to remind myself to drink more. On those days where I found it tough to drink any more water, I added Crystal Light to my water bottle, which really helped!! Did you notice any difference in the way you felt? I noticed a less bloated feeling, my skin was not as dry and it did help me curb my appetite a few times throughout the month. I hope you were able to recognize some noticeable difference in how your body felt. The main idea of this challenge was to become more aware of our drink choices, to incorporate just a few extra glasses of water each day, and realize that it’s not too difficult to add it into our daily routine. Drinking water is really important for our overall health and wellness, not just our weight loss efforts. Now that January is behind us, we take our new water drinking habit and carry it with us into February.
So what’s in store for the month of February? This month’s challenge is going to be Meal Planning.
Some of the topics we’ll discuss are: what is a meal plan, the benefits of meal planning, how to get started, how to use our meal plan with food shopping and cooking. I’m a big proponent of planning and I totally underestimated just how important planning really is for weight loss success! I’ll be sharing some of my tips, tricks, and things that I do which have helped me along my journey. I’ll also talk about how my meal planning has changed and evolved and show you what has worked well and what hasn’t worked and what I did about it all. Let’s face it, most of us have hectic schedules, with lots of moving parts and last-minute changes. This is where meal planning really comes into play and becomes so vitally important for our weight loss success.
Let’s do this! Stay tuned for a jam-packed month filled with lots of great meal planning!!
