Now that we’ve all committed to drink 2 more glasses ( 16oz. to be exact) of water each day, do you notice that drinking water all the time can get boring? Many people say it has no taste and gets old after a while. So How to Increase Your Daily Water Intake? Try These 7 Easy Ways.
- Don’t leave home without it – Your Own Water Bottle That Is! Invest in a reusable water bottle, also known as a HYDRATION BOTTLE, to take with you on your travels. When you head out, whether it’s to play golf, go to work, take the kids to school, run errands for the day, you have your water with you. Taking the time to select water bottle may take some doing, but this initial investment in time and money will be well worth it, for your health and wallet. I used to buy 2 cases of bottled water every week. Even though a case of 16 oz bottles is relatively inexpensive and costs on average, $3.50 per case ( this is the higher price average) this could set you back $364.00 per year or more depending on the size of your family. A reusable water bottle costs, on average from $9.99 to $50.00 depending on the brand and features. A few popular brands are Thermos, Polar, Yeti, Tal, Rubbermaid, and Hydroflask. Believe it or not, in my house we have the first five brands!
- First thing when you wake up each day, drink a glass of water. I often hear that many people cannot eat or drink anything upon rising. If drinking cold water sends shivers up your spine, try room temperature or lukewarm water. Your goal is to get 8 ounces in, that’s it!
- Lift a glass before each meal and snack. Not only will you be inching towards you daily water intake goal, but this will fill you up and help you eat less.
- Add a splash of fresh lemon, lime, orange or your favorite fruit.
- Add Zero Calorie or sugar-free packets of iced tea, crystal light, or other sugar-free flavor packets of your choice. Here’s my stash of crystal light in all kinds of flavors and sizes which all taste great! Try it out!
- Wean off sugary, high calorie beverages by drinking one glass of water in between those other drinks.
- Before you turn in at the end of the day, drink a glass of water.
I hope you find these tips helpful! By just trying a few of these suggestions, you’ll add to your water intake so easily and before you know it, you’ll have a new healthy habit of drinking more water throughout your day.
So quench your thirst, drink up! Lift a glass right now! Your body will thank you for it!
