So many of us love to hate the topic of exercise, but the reality is it’s an important component to overall health and weight loss success. Exercise has so many other benefits which I didn’t believe were true, until I started to see those benefits in my own life.

Here’s My Top 6 Benefits Of Exercise

  • Stress management – I feel less frazzled and anxious by the stresses of the day. I also notice my overall mood is better.
  • More Restful Sleep – I’ve noticed I sleep more hours overall uninterrupted
  • Better Weight Loss Results –  I really attribute reaching my weight loss goals to regular, consistent, challenging exercise. I firmly believe it has been the exercise that helped me reach my goal weight and keep it the weight off.
  • Decreased level of pain – the aches and pains I used to feel have greatly decreased. The arthritis in my knees used to be extremely painful and prohibited me from doing much at all. I lived on anti-inflammatory medicine 800 mg 2 or 3 times per day and now I rarely take any medicine. Why I say rarely because after doing some 5k walk/runs and a few longer work out sessions, I did take 2 regular strength Tylenol, but that’s it.
  • More Energy – Even when I push myself in the gym and I feel I have pushed hard, I still feel invigorated and notice my overall energy level is through the roof. I am always on the move now and am absolutely thrilled how quickly I can get through my daily chores, housework, food shopping errands, etc. I am amazed because it used to take me hours to get those things done, now I can get it all done in half the time and without any pain
  • .New experiences and meeting new people – I have met some wonderful people and have tried lots of different types of exercise and different ways to get exercise into my daily life.

    1. Hi Beth! I would suggest you start with walking and do research on classes in the gyms in your area as well as your local YMCA. You will be amazed with the different options available. I wish you all the best and keep in touch.
