How do you really set your self up for weight loss success? One of the things that has worked so well for me is planning my meals ahead. Weekdays are hectic for all of us. The last thing we want to do is spent a lot of time putting our meals together. Many days, I choose left overs from last night’s dinner or quick, healthy, grab and go selections. Here’s a day in the life of my jaxx! Check out what’s in the bag.
- Premier Protein Shake Chocolate Flavor. I find these shakes so creamy and delicious. They are a wonderful grab and go solution for a high protein meal. Each shake contains a whopping 30 grams of protein and an impressive 160 calories, 3 grams total fat, 5 grams total carbs, 3 grams dietary fiber, 1 gram sugars. In order to achieve a similar amount of protein, you would have to eat 4 oz of grilled chicken breast (29.2 grams of protein), 4oz.ground beef (33 grams of protein), 5 hard-boiled eggs (31.5 grams of protein) Each of the examples listed are higher in fat and overall calories. So for a satisfying mid morning meal or for breakfast, I normally select this protein shake
- Dannon Oikos Triple Zero Greek yogurt Mixed Berry. Sometimes I add 1/2 oz. or 1 oz. raw or all natural almonds to the yogurt for added crunch and protein. This is one of my favorite brands of greek yogurt as it’s creamy, with just a hint of sweetness which isn’t overpowering.
- Fresh Strawberries – 2-3 medium size. I added one strawberry to my yogurt, then had the rest later in the afternoon.
- Skinny Italian Flat Bread
So for this flatbread, I simply tucked a mission whole wheat tortilla into aluminium foil, in one of the containers, I stored 2 tablespoons of tomato sauce, 2 tablespoons of shaved parmesan cheese, 1 package of mini mozzarella balls sliced, 2 chicken and sausage meatballs. I arranged all of the ingredients on the open piece of aluminium foil, baked it in the toaster oven for 10 minutes and presto, lunch is served!
Check out the end result ! I encourage you to try out this recipe! Please share your creations!
