Plan Your Healthy Meals
All Packed up with Healthy Choices and Ready for my Day!

It always seems to be an ongoing challenge to figure out what to eat that’s healthy, delicious and not boring. I’ve been told that having a routine is vital for weight loss success and that information has been true in my own life. But, I’ve also been told it’s helpful to develop a routine with what you eat as well. That fact isn’t something I would like to accept or agree with, although over time, I am learning that it makes sense to have a set base of foods you eat on a regular basis. For example, I normally have greek yogurt every week. But, rather than selecting plain non-fat greek yogurt every week, one week I will have the plain greek type (which I add my own fresh berries to) and another week I will have Dannon Oikos Triple Zero Greek Yogurt in different flavors. There are times when I want to do something savory with my greek yogurt, so I will add dry veggie soup mix ( like Knorr’s brand) and have that with some fresh veggies. So you can see the basic idea here. In addition to greek yogurt as a regular staple to my eating plan, I do include some sort of low fat cheese, whether it’s laughing cow wedges, mini mozzarella cheese, part skim ricotta cheese, low fat cottage cheese, etc. Another favorite staple item for me is eggs, and protein creations in my little loaf pans whether I bake ricotta cheese or make baby quiches, those foods have a regular place on my menus. I also have a lot of fun creating mini meatballs, with either ground chicken, low fat beef, pork, I really enjoy mixing up batches of these little babies! I don’t think I have made the recipe the same. I always make a batch, then think, oh I wonder how they would taste if I add grated onion, or shredded carrots, etc. All in all, I do have some select go to items I eat on a regular basis, yet I don’t eat the exact same things all the time, because I would get bored. I guess that’s why I like playing around with recipes. It’s always fun to taste the end result of putting different ingredients together!

Here’s a few selections from my Jaxx! I also had a Premier Protein shake before I took the photo. So, my day consisted of 4 meals and then dinner at home.

A winning combination

This combination is fantastic! Tribe Hummus Garlic and Herb is full with flavor, yet low fat and creamy. Paired with celery sticks, this makes a wonderful healthy mini meal that’s satisfies your desire for salty, crunchy, and creamy. When you first try this hummus, what will amaze you it has such a full bodied flavor with low fat calories. Check this out the next time you go to the market.

One of my top favorite greek yogurts

Fage Total 0% Plain Greek Yogurt

When it comes to yogurt, I’ve noticed you either love Greek yogurt or you don’t. I haven’t met anyone who originally didn’t like greek yogurt and now does. But, maybe that’s just in my experience. I happen to really like Greek yogurt, but in my discovery phase, I tried almost every greek yogurt on the market and to me, this Dannon Oikos Plain Greek Yogurt and Fage 0% Plain Greek Yogurt are my top two plain greek yogurts. I just like the taste overall and this may sound strange, but the best way I can describe the sensation of Greek yogurt on my palete is after it’s finished. It reminds me of drinking wine and how the flavors linger. Greek yogurt relates the same way in that when you are finished eating the yogurt, you either have a pungent flavor or a smooth mild flavor that remains on your palete. (Now you see why I was so overweight as I think about food on a very deep level LOL) So today I chose Oikos with some Organic Blueberries and 1 packet of Stevia.

For dinner, I had baked pork loin seasoned with Badia Complete Seasoning and my homemade green seasoning and organic greens.
