So, we are already half way through the month of May. Hopefully, you are well, staying healthy and safe? This is week 3 of our Back on Track Challenge and I wanted to take a pause to check in with you and see how you are all doing? As this pandemic lingers on, I learning so much about myself. I hope this challenge has allowed you to take the time to focus on yourself and your loved ones. Use this time figure out what’s most important in your life, and recognize that you are so much stronger than you ever realized. Check out what I’ve been up to!
Self-Care Art Class
My sister sent our family some art projects to work on while saying safe at home. This was so much fun and took me one evening to complete. The wonderful thing about this project, I was totally absorbed in it, I forgot everything that was going on around me, felt relaxed and calm. By far, the BEST benefit from this evening of art, was I didn’t look to snack on anything all evening!!
The Color Purple -New Protein Shake Creation
This is a MUST TRY protein shake. You will be truly amazed at just how yummy, thick and creamy it is. I will add this to my recipe section so you have the exact proportions, but this shake is super quick and easy. I bought both of the ingredients, Premier Protein Shakes and Cascadian Farms Organic Antioxidant Berry Mix at Costco. All you basically have to do is Pour the protein shake into a blender, 1/4 or 1/2 cup of the berries, a few cubes of ice, but not too much since the berries are frozen. Blend until smooth and creamy. I have a setting on my Oster Blender for Milk Shakes. It gives the shake that luscious and creamy consistency, without all of the added sugar and calories.
Routine
I’ve been making some great improvements with having a more structured routine. I wanted to change my morning and evening routines around a little bit, which has been great. I tend to put too many tasks on my list of things to do and as usual, I began my new routines with way too many things. So, I pared it down to 6 tasks, designed to enrich, encourage and get my head and heart focused in the right direction each day.
Exercise During the Pandemic
I received this wonderful gift for Mother’s Day. It’s Fitness, health and wellness journal by C.R Gibson & Markings. Click the link and check out the wide selection of journals they offer. Since I’m a writer and like to keep track of my fitness and meals, this journal was a great option for me. BUT, along with keeping track of exercise and food, there’s daily inspiration, a section for gratitude, and “fit tips.”
